The Alfa Laval Emmie 2 is a complete cleaning system including separator, feed pump and controls. It can be supplied with or without a heater. It extends oil lifetime, increases uptime and reduces equipment wear. It removes virtually all water and more than 99% of solid particles 2-5 µm in size (but no additives) from any service oil. Under normal operating conditions, payback time can be less than a year.
How the Emmie 2 works
The Alfa Laval disc-stack centrifuge efficiently separates the solid and liquid phases from each other. Traditional settling tanks use gravity to separate phases. Due to the high rotational velocity, the Alfa Laval centrifuge separators speeds up separation by 5,000 times using centrifugal force instead of just gravity.
The force presses heavy particles outwards against the separator walls. The disc stack inside the separator bowl ensures lighter particles follow the heavier ones instead of the liquid, making separation more precise and efficient.
